Why Chia Seeds? I’ve been a fan of chia seeds since the Chia Pet about 25 years ago. Most recently I’ve been a fan of these little black seeds for other reasons: Chia seeds have been called a superfood because they’re high in Omega-3 fatty acids, the type of fat your body can’t make. Hence you have to take it in through your diet. Omega-3s have potent anti-inflammatory action and are great for your hair, skin and nails. They contain a good amount of calcium and iron, and are a tremendous fiber source. They improve your digestion because they provide bulk and they absorb many times their own weight in water. Add them to your salad, your smoothies or make yourself a pudding. Here are my favorite recipes and they’re made so super-quick in the Nutribullet as well:
